"A visit to Affordable Auto Glass was like stepping back in time when the old fashion values were practiced with customer service. I wasn't rushed or made to feel like just a number, they called me by name and answered all my questions and seemed happy to do so. They replaced a moon roof which looked as good as new when the car rolled out of their facility. It's as tight as a drum and even in pelting rain not a speck of water came through. They practice old fashion values with their craftsmanship too! "

"Our glass was replaced the previous year(by this same company) due to a rock hitting it. The seal was apparently not done right according to these same technicians. The car needed to stay the weekend this time around which was very inconvenient. Also, the day it was dropped off the CSR called at noontime and said the car was ready. Of course at 4:30 when my husband went to pick it up, it was in fact NOT ready. Very inconvenient!"

Hi Andrea, Thanks for filling out the online comment card, I am very sorry that you were inconvenienced. After reading your comment card, I can see that the reason for your car not being ready was not explained to you properly and I apologize for that. Last year when we replaced your windshield the seal was 100% correct , what the installer was trying to explain was related to the moldings on the left and right side of the windshield on the exterior of the car. These moldings have absolutely no bearing on the seal, they are cosmetic only. They are designed with a plastic retainer that is sometimes stronger than the molding itself. It is not unusual for one or two of the clips to break off which can be successfully adhered back in place, however if more than that are damaged we require the moldings be replaced so they remain tight and trouble free. These fasteners are hidden from sight and we have no way of knowing if the molding will require replacement until they are removed. Your windshield was done twice which greatly increased the odds for these same clips breaking and several more. When we saw that too many needed repair we chose to replace the moldings. Your car was done and ready to be driven with the exception of the moldings. We offered the use of a free loaner car to your husband, or the option to take your vehicle which was fine to use since these moldings were cosmetic, and bring it back when they arrived. It is a simple 10 minute procedure to install them. Your husband declined both of those options and said he had other cars that could be used, he was very cordial and it seemed that he was fine with the situation, therefore I thought all was well. Please accept our apologies, it’s situations like this that separates us from other glass shops, most would just glue down your moldings and hope that they never flew off. At Affordable Auto Glass we strive to make sure things are done right at whatever the expense. I am truly sorry for the inconvenience but you can be assured that you have the best possible windshield replacement in your vehicle and it is 100% correct, no corners were cut. "I have used Affordable before and have been very satisfied, this time around I was not happy with a "non-brand" windshield that was placed on my car. Although the workmanship was outstanding I clearly stated prior to the repair that I wanted a factory windshield. I immediatly brought this to the attention of John and he quickly got the owner to discuss this. I am satified that AAG is attempting to fix this problem, but I am not happy to take another day of work off to have this done. Its extremly inconvinent and I wish is was done right from the onset, as I had clearly requested to Sarah upon making my appointment. Jackie Hutton"

Dear Ms. Hutton, We are sincerely sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your windshield replacement. Unfortunately when keeping with the requirements of most insurance companies, we are often not able to provide a factory windshield. Because of the very often stringent regulations of many insurance companies, we must use an aftermarket windshield when we work on most vehicles. However, rest assured that we only use top-quality aftermarket windshields. (These are often made by the same people that made your original factory windshield!) Please know, however, that we understand how important a vehicle can be to someone. Normally in a case like this, we would have offered the option to get you a dealership windshield if you wanted to pay the difference not covered by your insurance as most companies only pay for dealer windshields on vehicles of the current model year, and those with under 24,000 miles. We neglected to give you that option, and thus caused you inconvenience. We also understand in this day, and age how impactful taking a day off of work can be, and so we sincerely apologize. That being said, we would love to have you come back and have us install a factory windshield for you. As a special onetime courtesy, we’re willing to make that happen for you, even if it’s at our expense…it really is that important to us that you absolutely love the work we do on your vehicle. As always, your business is greatly appreciated!

"The replacement windshield that was installed on my car is chipped around the edges. There were small, sharp pieces of glass along the side of the windshield. Both the left and right front pillars have nicks in them that were not there when I dropped it off. Thay are not noted on the intial walkaround(because they were not there) and It being a new car I knew there was no such damage. I am VERY unhappy with the quality of workmanship and the quality of the parts used on my car. "

"I have been going to AAG for several years now and have been very happy and satisfied with the whole overall experience. I have highly recomended AAG to many people. On July 27 my wife brought our 2002 Honda Odyssey in for an inspection sticker. It failed for a brake light out and the tech said the E-brake would not hold. On July 29 I took the Odyssey for the day (cancelled many appointments) and spent most of my only day off to fix these problems. I went to AAG at 4:20 pm and told the girl behind the counter that I was there for a retest. She told me that they WOULD NOT test my car because they had been busy testing cars all day and decided not to test any more after 3:30 pm. I could not believe what I was hearing. I could understand if there was a computer problem or some other legitimate excuse But all I got was that they just didn't feel like doing it. I was quite surprised and I really don't know about my future dealings with AAG."

Our Response:
Dear Mr. Patnaude, We are sorry to hear that your experience here at Affordable Auto Glass was not up to your expectations. Unfortunately the end of the month seems to always be our busiest time for state inspections. Typically the last business day of the month is our busiest, and we, like many inspection stations, have a line for the better part of the day. We typically provide state inspections from 8:00am to 4:30pm, and while we would normally be able to take your vehicle in for an inspection even if you were a few minutes later than 4:30, on the last day of the month this is often not possible and we are forced to be a bit stricter with our times of operation. This is because a long line at the very end of the day means that it is very often difficult to ensure that we can fit everyone in. We try our best to be as fair as possible, and to that end, it is important that we make certain that customers who were already here waiting, are able to be helped. We apologize profusely for whatever inconvenience this may have caused you, and would love to have you come back to see us again for your re-inspection. As always, your business is greatly appreciated.

"I am amazed at the great service here! I went in to have my windshield replaced. When I saw that they also do inspections, I requested this also. Not only did they replace the windshield & do the inspection, BUT - My car was cleaned INSIDE and OUT and I was given a large sized can of their glass cleaner for FREE! The staff were wonderful to me, asking if there was anything else they could help with - Notification that my car was ready was nice - I expected to have to call in. Not only did this all make my day - it helped make the crappy year so much better! I will return, if only for my inspection stickers, but for anything else my car needs that they can do! I have told my friends about all of this, and I am sure that some of them will be new customers! Thank You Ever So Much!!"

"Staff personell are always friendly when there are no problems to resolve. I brought my car in for passenger window repair. Upon Diagnostics,it was determined that the window Regulator was bad and would have to be ordered. I asked the CSR to cost out the repair. He (John) quoted me a price (verbally) and told me that the Diagnostic charge would be applied to the repair if I had the service work done there. I scheduled the service a few days later when the part would be in. When the work was finished I received a printed receipt showing the verbal price quoted. No where was the Diagnostic fee removed. When I question (John) he indicated he alloted for the Diagnostic fee. Again, no preprinted quote, no postings of any kind displayed reguarding service fees. I was Irate with the responces I was getting. Along comes (Sarah), apparently a CSR Supervisor. I went through the entire events again with her only to have her tell me She could do nothing because she was not in attendance for the Inital dialog. By this time I was so upset with these young people with their lack of Finanial Disclosure, I asked to speak to the owner who was in his office being busy. so she saids by way of a computer driven IM (instant Message). Sarah could not tell me when 'Joe' might be available, I would have to wait. A half hour had gone by and still no "Joe". I asked Sarah to knock on his office door and have him come out to talk to me. She told she could not do that and IM was the means of communication. What a convenient way to pick & choose whom will be communicated to. Being a cash customer at this business is to be put in a state of 'no cash, no problem,no car. All you happy campers, stay happy untill some day you find yourself dealing with incompetent underlings with no knowledge of Financial Disclosure in writing prior to job completion. By the way, Still no "Joe" "

"I walked into the lobby of Affordable Auto Glass to have the retest performed on my van for the state inspection. I had failed previously due to my battery dying and the onboard comp being wiped. The tech at the time told me I had to go 200 miles without the battery dying again to do the retest. I barely drive my van. Today was the last day I was able to get the free retest (as I work too late the rest of the week) and I rushed to pick up my son and get there before 4:30 when I knew the tests stopped. Again, I arrived at 4:27 and the (and I use this term EXTREMELY loosely) "gentleman" at the desk informs me that it is after 4:30 and he cannot take in my van. I showed him the correct time of 4:27 on my cell phone but due to the fact that someone at your business set the clock ahead 5 minutes, he again refused to take in my van. I have never seen such a blatant display of horrible customer service IN MY LIFE and I am so ashamed of the world that would allow my 4 year old son to witness it as well. I will never take my vehicle there again if I have to pay for the retest and I will be sure all my friends at Balise Mazda never recommend a customer to do business with you again either. You may want to fix your clock and make sure your male CSR actually knows the meaning of "customer service.""

Our Response:
Hi Sarah, My staff informed me that you felt your windshield was leaking, I was told that you thought the leak caused your radio to stop working. I take these warranty claims very seriously, and we have had very few leaks in our 17 years in business, so I made sure to follow your vehicle closely through the diagnosis process because I want to know if something is leaking and what caused it. When your truck arrived I water tested it and found it leaking on the passenger floor from the heater box, down where the radio wiring is, not from the windshield. Sometimes this can be an inaccurate test as it could still be leaking from another point and I wanted to be 100% sure that it was not leaking and in order to do that I needed to go an extra step and remove and reinstall your windshield to completely rule out the windshield leaking. When a windshield is removed you can clearly see if it has been leaking by inspecting the adhesion of the glue to the glass and the glue to the body. You had perfect adhesion in both of those areas, your windshield was not leaking, I witnessed this myself. In fact I believe photos were taken to show you this. Your truck is leaking but it is not from the windshield. Normally when a customer claims a windshield is leaking and we remove the glass and find that it is not, we charge them for labor and materials but I did not charge you because I have been doing work for your family for years and I am an aquaintance of George Alevras( your father?) and he has always been good to me and has brought me many jobs. While it is not my responsibility to go any further in pinpointing the leak, I can tell you I witnessed it coming in from the heater box and I suspect the sunroof is leaking, this would cause water to drip down by the rearview mirror looking like it's the windshield. Your headliner cloth is also coming unglued and hanging down.....another sign of a sunroof leaking. I would like to get to the bottom of what you feel happened that would cause you to give us such a harsh comment card. I have a feeling that maybe things were not explained correctly to you and you did not understand the steps we took and how we came to the conclusion that your radio problem is from a leak coming from somewhere else. I would appreciate a call from you to discuss this, your business is important to me .

"The 10 year old windshield was pitted and foggy. Night lights would diffuse and even new wipers would smear the water. The new windshield is great, the clarity is like night and day. It\'s like having a new car! They suggested new wipers and I thought that was a good idea, even though the ones that were on the car were fairly new. UPDATE: We called Katherine and explained to her that the car was brought in this way. Someone had removed that cowling previously and it was in pieces , missing screws and had silver wood screws in the places that screws were used. After talking with her she said that she believed us and it was her boyfriend who mentioned it not her. Normally is these situations we note the damage beforehand but this car was very old with damage everywhere and this was so obvious that we did not think it warrented a call before we started working on it. I followed this call up with Katherine's insurance agent to let them know that we had called and sorted things out and Katherine is satisfied.
